The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral group therapy on pain perception in women with MS. The research method was quasi-experimental using a pretest-posttest design with a control group and follow-up. The sample consisted of 30 women with MS (15 in the intervention group, 15 in the control group) who were selected through convenience sampling. Both groups were pre-tested using McGill’s (1983) Pain Perception Questionnaire. The experimental group then underwent cognitive-behavioral therapy for 8 sessions of 90 minutes, and after the sessions, a post-test, and after one month, follow-up was performed. Analysis of covariance was used to analyze the data. The results showed that cognitive-behavioral group therapy helped to reduce pain perception in this group of women.
