The right to life is also parts of the basic natural and legal rights which are supposed to be defended by law and protected by the necessary instruments of security. In various religions, as well as in Islam, the right to life is regarded as a gift from God for all men and women. While condemning the killings of females, Islam regards men and women of the same life source and considers any kind of killing as crime against humanity. <br />In modern times, some legal systems, like the Western view of universal human rights, human dignity is regarded as a manifestation of the basic right to life in which value concerns are left unspoken. In doing so the human life is treated in its material dimension hence leaving out the spiritual dimension. <br />In this paper, after reviewing the documents on the right to life in the Western sources, rights to the life in Islam will be presented also. In it the woman’s right to life from the point of view of Islam and the view presented in international documents will be set forth and compared. حق حیات ازجمله مهم‌ترین حقوق موضوعه برای انسان است که در ادیان الهی و اسناد بین‌المللی معاصر موضوعیت مربوط به خود را داشته است. علاوه‌بر این، حق حیات ازجمله مهم‌ترین اصول حقوق فطری است و دفاع قانونی از این حق و تأمین زیرساخت‌های امنیتی لازم برای آن از ضروریات اجتماعی تلقی می‌شود. در ادیان الهی، به‌ویژه دین اسلام نیز، حق حیات به‌مثابة موهبت الهی برای همة انسان‌ها، اعم از زن و مرد، به‌رسمیت شناخته شده است و ضمن محکومیت دخترکشی، زن و مرد را از یک نفس شناخته، کشتن به ناحق انسان‌ها را جنایت علیه بشریت معرفی می‌کند. در دوران معاصر، برخی از نظام‌های حقوقی دنیا، ازجمله حقوق جهانی بشر، از دیدگاه غرب کرامت انسانی را، که از جلوه‌های حق حیات است، در کرامت ذاتی محصور کرده‌اند و از کرامت ارزشی سخنی به میان نمی‌آورند؛ حیات انسان را در بعد مادی نگریسته‌اند و حیات معنوی را نادیده انگاشته‌اند. در این مقاله، پس از مرور مستندات حق حیات در اسناد بین‌المللی غرب معاصر، با رویکردی تطبیقی به حوزة معناییْ موضوع، قلمرو، و دامنة حق حیات برای زنان از دیدگاه اسلام و اسناد بین‌المللی مشخص شده، سپس مقایسه و مقابله شده است. http://womenstudy.ihcs.ac.ir/article_538_b9a1a1d14d56cc4ef80f928f07a8cdbe.pdf
