Abstract

The purpose of this study was to Comparison of the efficacy of acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness on the suicidal ideation of depressed women referred Private psychological consulting and counseling centers..
This study was a randomized design with pre-test and post-test design with control group. The research population included all depressed women who referred to private psychiatric counseling and counseling centers in the years 1963-96. Twenty-four patients with depression were randomly assigned to one of the experimental and control groups. The experimental groups received eight sessions of treatment for one hour. To collect data, Beck Depression and Self-Detection Thinking Scale was used
The results of covariance analysis showed that there was a significant difference between two groups in post test scores of suicidal thoughts.The findings of this study showed that there was a significant difference between intervention based on mindfulness therapy and commitment and acceptance to suicidal ideation . There was a significant difference between commitment and admission and mindfulness therapy, and treatment of commitment and acceptance Has been more effective. The results of this study showed that both interventions can change and improve suicidal ideation in depressed people
