The effectiveness of problem-solving oriented sex therapy based on the Islamic approach for couple's sexual problems (Feasibility study, compilation of conceptual model and initial therapeutic outcomes)

Abstract

Introduction The scientific study and creating conditions to develop evidence-based treatment for sexual problems is one of the important concerns for the clients seeking to solve these problems. Considering the importance of paying attention to the cultural-religious context of the clients. therapy.
Method This research Delphi study method, qualitative analysis and single-case experimental intervention, effectiveness in dimensions of general sexual function, quality of marital life and sexual satisfaction was performed on 6 subjects (2 groups of three) with a problem of sexual dissatisfaction.
Findings The results of this study indicate that problem solving oriented sex therapy based on Islamic approach can lead to more effective improvement of couples' sexual problems. In particular, the significant effect of corrective interventions in marital life style and process.
Discussion and Conclusion The proposed problem solving oriented sex therapy based on Islamic approach has the potential to create more effective capacities for Iranian clients and by creating an interventional environment consistent with the culture and religion of the clients, it can be applied as an evidence-based therapeutic style in promoting the policies of couples’ sexual health system in Iran.
