The effectiveness of Compassion Focused Therapy on improving social adjustment and Forgiveness in divorced women

Abstract

Divorce is one of the major causes of the failure of the family center, which has many consequences for the community and can be the source of many injuries. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of Compassion Focused Therapy on improving social adjustment and Forgiveness in divorced women. The research project was a semi-experimental, pre-test, post-test, and follow-up with the control group. The society included all divorced women in the city of Isfahan. The sample consisted of 30 individuals who were randomly assigned to control and experimental groups and the experimental group received treatment focused on compassion. In order to collect data, a Social Adjustment questionnaire and Forgiveness questionnaire was used. The results showed that Compassion Focused Therapy is effective on social adjustment and the Forgiveness of divorced women. Overall, results indicated that Compassion Focused Therapy could be used to improve social adjustment and Forgiveness in divorced women.
