Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between personality traits and interpersonal support on the one hand and happiness on the other hand among female bachelor students of Islamic Azad University. The research was correlational and the statistical population of all female bachelor students of Islamic Azad University in the academic year of 1393-94 was about 1500 people. The sample was 300 randomly selected using Cochran's formula, which finally resulted in 217 individuals, given the sample’s losses. For implementation of the research, short form of Neo Personality Inventory (NEO-FFI) (1992), Argyle Happiness Questionnaire (1989) and Phillips Social Support Scale (2007) were used. After analyzing the raw questionnaires, SPSS software was used to analyze the descriptive statistics and to test the hypotheses using inferential statistics of variance analysis and regression analysis. Findings of the research showed that there is no significant relationship between personality characteristics and female student happiness. There is also no significant relationship between interpersonal support and female student happiness
