With the increasing presence of women in the labor market, gender differences in various occupational fields have become more evident than ever, influencing productivity levels. Women, through economic participation and engagement in work environments, have disrupted previous equilibriums, necessitating a reevaluation of professional relationships across different sectors. Gender beliefs are one of the dimensions affecting organizations and factories. This study explores the generalizability of gender beliefs within the supply chain process.
The generalizability of gender beliefs in the supply chain emphasizes that the more women believe in themselves and their abilities—and maintain a strong, unwavering conviction in the roles they perform—the more effectively they can fulfill those roles. This research is essential because, in many societies and organizations, gender beliefs are deeply rooted at both individual and institutional levels, often subconsciously influencing decision-making processes and workplace dynamics.
The study adopts a qualitative, exploratory approach with a phenomenological perspective. Data were collected through in-depth, semi-structured interviews, and findings were analyzed using the Colaizzi method. The research sample consisted of 30 women and men employed in two manufacturing units (glassware and cookware factories). Participants were selected purposively and voluntarily from various departments of these units, with supervisors' permission.
