During the Pahlavi era, profound transformations occurred in the social and cultural structure of Iran, leading to an increased presence of women in various sectors of society, including the press. This study examines the typology of women journalists in the press of Fars province during the Pahlavi era. The research aims to answer a fundamental question: based on Pierre Bourdieu's concepts of social and cultural capital, how did family background, social class, and education influence the entry of women journalists in Fars into the press industry? Using a historical method and a descriptive-analytical approach, and drawing on library sources, archives, and field studies (interviews), the findings reveal that family, social class, and education were key factors in facilitating the entry of women journalists in Fars into the press during the Pahlavi period. Cultural families, belonging to the enlightened middle class, and access to education—representing Bourdieu's social and cultural capitals—played a crucial role in providing the necessary conditions and opportunities for these women to engage in and impact the press sector. These factors were interdependent, contributing collectively to an elitist trajectory of women’s journalism in Fars.
